PHUNK - Transmission 2013

I've built up my very own cocoon.
Cut butterflies one by one.
Pinned a thousand needles.

I've been working on an exhibition with Phunk Studios, as one of their 6 apprentices.
The theme is KINGDOM OF. The opening is this Thursday (19th of Sept). Come and see my finished work and see what the other apprentices have done too.

Le Parfum

I'm currently working on an illustration of Le Parfum (a wonderful book by Süskind).
I'm not telling you yet what my plan is, but here are the illustrations I've made for now. Here is a small resume of the story so you can understand it better.

Story of a murderer: J-B Grenouille is obsessed by scents and lives like a beast, guided only by his nose, having no sense of morality or compassion whatsoever. Having a wonderful nose, he has decided to create the best perfume in the universe, and to do so, to capture it from women he encounters. How? by covering them up in grease just like what perfumers do with flowers. Except that women cannot be picked like flowers... He creates a perfume with 9 tones, finalized with a wonderful 10th top note which enhances and beautifies all the others.

Fred & Tumi

This is what happens at Fred Lives Here when Tumi gives us a suitcase. We turn it into a rocking chair.

Collab with Ceno2

One month ago, I made 2 stencils for Ceno2, fine art graffiti artist, who turned plastic Pantone chairs into metal "industrial baroque" masterpieces, for a client of Fred Lives Here. Proud!

Ghost Chair

WeJungle and I are re-vamping this ghost chair  (originally completely transparent) for Fred Lives Here, covering it with everyday heroes, casted in resin.
Super toxic stinky process, but the result is supacool.

Work in progress for now:

Monopoly - What a Touristic World 2013

My final year project is finally done and I introduce to you the MONOPOLY - What a Touristic World 2013.
Entirely designed, conceived, illustrated, cut, recut, pasted by myself.

Creation process

Tokens
Bills

Chance Cards

Community Chest Cards

They come with the Mass Tourism Leader Vision glasses, that you can download here and cut by yourself. Wear proudly and be prepared to rule the world.

The concept of the MONOPOLY - What a Touristic World© 2013 is the result of genuine artistic creation and imagination.

Any resemblance with a famous game or the reality is purely unintentional and absolutely not aforethought.

The Sir MONOPOLY character is inspired by the pioneer of mass tourism, Thomas Cook.

He has kindly approved to sign all the Paper Cash Bills.

Presented in LASALLE College of the Arts, not distributed, not meant for sale, for consenting grown-up users only. Attention! Some rules of this game may shock the younger ones for their cruelty towards the poor.
Contains no nudity -even if the players may end up naked if they decide to sell their personal belongings in case of bankrupt.

Approved by the Censorship Board of Singapore.

Colors and parts may vary from those pictured.

Conceived, designed, printed and edited by Tiphaine Guillermou - 2013
